25-Year-Old Nabbed For Armed Robbery Of Long Island Hotel Guest, Police Say

A Long Island 25-year-old has been charged with robbery for allegedly entering a hotel room and demanding money from the victim while threatening them with a knife.

The incident took place in Massapequa around 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 at the Budget Inn located at 400 Carman Mill Road.

According to Nassau County detectives, officers responded to the hotel for a report of a man who entered the victim’s room and displayed a knife demanding money. 

The victim, age 34, complied and the suspect, identified as Francisco Jacob Soto, of Massapequa, left the hotel, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Soto was located by police shortly after and placed into custody without incident.

He was charged with robbery, burglary, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Soto will be arraigned on Thursday, March 16 in Hempstead.
